Tim is a graduate of St. Ignatius High School, Marquette University and Case Western Reserve Law School. His legal career began in 1991 at the City of Cleveland Law Department where he was the first volunteer law clerk ever hired by the City. He went on to become an Assistant Director of Law in 1991; he began representing the City in Tort Litigation and moved on to supervise liquor prosecution. Tim then joined the Municipal Law Section where he provided legislative counsel to City Council and the Mayor.
In 1996, Tim was appointed to Cleveland City Council representing Ward 17, an area of approximately 4 square miles with over 23,000 constituents. While on Council, he served as Chairman of the Community and Economic Development Committee. As Chairman, he oversaw the $40,000,000 Consolidated Plan Budget. As a member of the Finance Committee, he had oversight and fiduciary responsibility for the City of Cleveland's annual budget of over one billion dollars ($1,000,000,000). It was during this time that Tim first began to practice in the area of Estate Planning.
In 2002, Tim chose not to run for reelection. He was recruited by the Chairman of the Board of a new appraisal management company to create internal human resource protocols, maintain its operations within Federal Regulations and create a government relations strategy. The company specialized in real estate mortgage and property valuation services for the mortgage finance industry.
Upon completion of his tasks, Tim returned to public service in mid 2003 as an Assistant County Prosecutor in the Civil Division of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office where he represented the County's elected officials, agencies, departments and a variety of statutorily created entities. During this time, Tim continued to develop a private practice.
In 2008, Tim's private practice had grown to the point that he left the Prosecutor's Office. Tim represented clients in matters involving estate planning, land use, contracts, government relations and business planning. In 2009, Tim joined the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys focusing his practice on Estate Planning.
Tim lives in Chardon, Ohio with his two sons, Jacob and Nathan. He is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland, Class of 2001 and has served on the Boards of Neighborhood Progress Incorporated, Northern Ohio Recovery Association Geauga Lyric Theatre Guild, Tim also has participated in a working group at United Way Services of Geauga County creating policies and procedures for planned giving.
